The Minor Bantam Braves headed out to the Richard Bell Memorial Tournament in Oakville this weekend and came home undefeated Champions.The boys started the tournament against the home team Oakville Rangers, coming out on top of a 3-1 game. Later that day they matched the Ajax Knights with a 2-2 tie. Bright and early the next morning the team defeated the Hamilton Wings 5-1 and later defeated their GTHL rivals West Mall Lightning 1-0. In the semi-finals they met another GTHL rival in the Toronto Ice Dogs. The Braves came out with determination and grit and won the semi 5-3. With only a couple of hours between games the boys came back to again face West Mall in the finals. This was a nail-bitter with the Braves coming out on top with a 3-2 win. Congratulations to all the boys on a well deserved Championship!

A very determined Minor Bantam Braves team set out to Detroit this weekend to play in the Fire Bolt Tournament. The boys were slotted into the Bantam AA division by the organizers but these 13 year old boys were not going to let that stop them. On Friday they played a well fought game against the Columbus Blue Jackets and came out on the losing end of a 2-1 game. On Saturday morning they came out to play the Nobleking Knights and won 2-0, then defeated the Northbrook Bluehawks 3-2 a few hours later. Their most physical game was played Sunday morning against the Indy Racers. The boys came out with some bumps and bruises, but defeated the Racers 2-1, leading them to the finals to again play the Columbus Blue Jackets, who were undefeated in the tournament. Our boys came out of that game as champions as they defeated the Blue Jackets 3-1.  All lines contributed to this tournament win including forwards, defencemen and goalies.  It was a total team effort.

The Minor Bantams went undefeated over the weekend to capture the Championship banner at the 41st Annual Streetsville Tigers Fall Tournament, including a 2-0 semi finals victory over the host Tigers team, followed by a 5-0 effort in the finals verses the Georgina Blaze.

The Mississauga Braves Hockey Association set an association record sending seven of nine teams to the play off rounds and capturing Championships in four of the Mississauga Early Bird's eight age divisions. The Minor Atoms, Atoms, Peewees and Minor Bantams all took home the trophies, with the Bantams losing the finals in a 2 - 1 overtime battle with the Jets. Competing in semi final action were the Minor Peewees and Midget Juniors. The Braves Association congratulates all teams for doing us proud!
