The Mississauga Braves Hockey Association was founded in 1982 as an offshoot of the AAA Mississauga Reps. The organization originally played out of Dixie Arena, moving to Cawthra Arena, then Tomken Arena, before finally settling into its new home rink, The Hershey Centre.

In its 1982-1983 inaugural season, the Mississauga Braves captured two Carnation Cup Divisional Championships and one GTHL Championship that same season.

Current Association President & General Manager, Gord Murphy, joined the Mississauga Braves in 1985 and now heads a dedicated Board of Directors consisting of founding member and current 1st Vice-President & Treasurer Rick Rye, along with Mark Meyer, Sheila Meyer, Paul Iamundo, April Kellie, Barry Carroll and Gary Camilleri.

Leading up to the 2007-2008 Season, the Mississauga Braves have gone on to win some 34 Divisional Championships (Carnation Cup / Promittere Cup), 23 GTHL Championships, 6 OHF Provincial Championships and 1 Ontario Winter Games Championship.

The Mississauga Braves Hockey Association competes in the GTHL AA West Division with some 170 players aged eight to 18 on ten teams. The Braves Association strives to provide a positive environment for players to develop both hockey and life skills, while enjoying the thrill and benefits of competing in Canada’s national winter sport.
